Center for Languages and International Collaboration

The Center for Languages and International Collaboration (CLIC) brings the world into focus with resources that hone language skills and cultural sensitivity. The center helps build awareness of countries and cultures across the globe through multimedia materials, cutting-edge technology, and interaction with Bentley peers who come from abroad.

In the CLIC, you can take advantage of:

  • Multimedia library of instructional materials for language and cultural learning
  • 24-seat theater with international satellite broadcasting in six languages: Arabic, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese and Spanish
  • 15-station PC area networked to the Tandberg Prisma language system
  • Live video conferencing
  • Two bistro-style rooms, where students can engage in one-on-one conversation

Tutoring Services

Students taking modern language classes can participate in one-on-one tutoring sessions. Appointments are scheduled online and take place directly in the CLIC lab.

Mini Language Sessions

Open to the entire Bentley community, these sessions are held on a weekly basis and are available in six languages: Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. Sessions are divided into beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. At the beginning and intermediate levels, the lessons are designed in a lecture format; participants at the advanced level take part in a discussion facilitated by a tutor instructor.

The CLIC offers a variety of software programs such as Rosetta Stone, Tell Me More and SpeechWorks to help in the learning of more than 25 languages, including:
