Economics-Finance

The Bentley Economics–Finance major will provide you with a firm understanding of the environment in which all businesses operate, as well as equip you with an analytical skill set necessary to make sound business decisions. You will be trained in financial statement analysis, while also building a strong foundation in microeconomic and macroeconomic theory.

Career Options

A key advantage of this major is the versatility it affords you in selecting from a wide variety of careers and advanced degrees. You may pursue a career at financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies and investment brokerage firms, or work for manufacturing or service-industry companies. Another strong career option is employment with local, state or national governments.

Honors and Awards

During your senior year, you can be considered for membership in Omicron Delta Epsilon, a prestigious organization of top economics students nationwide. You also may be eligible for the Wall Street Journal Award, given to a graduating Economics–Finance or Managerial Economics student considered by the department to be the most outstanding.

Economics–Finance Society

You can participate in programs and activities offered by the Economics–Finance Society, an on-campus group that views the business world from both the theoretical and financial sides. The club schedules a variety of events every semester, such as guest speakers who are financial analysts, venture capitalists and economic advisers.
