Flex the Falcon is the Bentley mascot — and the university's biggest fan! He can be found at sporting events, Parent's Weekend, Homecoming and other campus activities.
Delta Kappa Epsilon is one of the six fraternities on campus. We also have four sororities, two Greek Governing Councils and a Community Activities Council. All Greek life is strongly dedicated to community, service, and scholarship.
At the center of campus is the Green Space, which provides a spot for students to enjoy activities like throwing a Frisbee or playing their guitar. And because the entire campus is completely wireless, you can even bring out your laptop and do some homework.
Project Haiti is a student-initiated relief effort supporting victims of the January 2010 Haiti earthquake; the initiative quickly surpassed its initial fundraising goal of $30,000. Interest in the project has been so overwhelming that a Haiti Relief project course debuted in fall 2010, allowing students to continue their humanitarian efforts in the classroom.
Grill pits are located outside each residence hall on campus. There are also outdoor sand volleyball and tennis courts.
On Spring Day, South Campus is the scene of fun activities like waterslides, field games and races.
The Bentley Pub, located in the Student Center, is a great hangout spot during the weekends. Local band concerts are a favorite, as well as the pool tables.
Many multicultural clubs and organizations are devoted to promoting diversity and cultural awareness not only on campus, but outside the Bentley community as well.
Cheerleaders perform at Bentley football and basketball games, energizing the crowd and showcasing Falcon spirit.
The Bentley Dance Team regularly performs at on-campus student events, and also competes each year in the Chick-fil-A Cheer and Dance Collegiate Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Some classes offer a fourth credit service-learning option, through which students can get out of the classroom and into the community. Here, a student works with a Waltham resident to help her prepare her taxes.
The annual Homecoming Game attracts a large crowd of current students, professors, staff, alumni and football fans. Go Falcons!
Bentley offers many study abroad programs; each year, more than 400 students travel to 30 different countries. Not only do we offer semester, summer, and internship programs abroad, but also short-term excursions where students can go for a month or a week. In our of our most popular service-learning study abroad programs, students travel to Ghana for a week of volunteering in local schools.
The Bentley Library features 24 soundproof study rooms. A convenient online reservation system allows students to easily use these spaces to study for tests, work on a group project, or hold meetings.
Baccalaureate, held the night before Commencement, offers a formal farewell to all graduating students.
Financial guru Suze Orman was the guest speaker at the 2010 Commencement for undergraduate students.
The Bentley men's basketball team was selected seventh in the National Association of Basketball Coaches in Division II preseason rankings. The team has reached the NCAA Division II national semifinals twice in the past three seasons. At Bentley, we have 20 varsity Division II sports, except men's ice hockey which is Division I. We also offer many club and intramural sports, which around 75% of the student body take part in every year.
Every year, two Activities Fairs introduce students to the more than 100 clubs and organizations on campus.
The CRAZE dance team is one of three such teams on campus. They perform at home men's and women's home basketball games, as well as at other campus events.
